National Volunteer Week: It’s Your Time to Shine

April is a busy month here in the urban forestry world. We have to celebrate Earth Day, Canopy Award honorees, Arbor Day, and last but not least – National Volunteer Week! This nationwide celebration of volunteers allows organizations to step back and truly thank the people that make it all happen.

Our volunteers are crucial every step of the way. Without them, our impact on the city (over 30,000 trees) would be significantly less. Whether you’ve volunteered at a community tree planting (leading, planting trees, or helping with registration), advocated for trees, done outreach, or cared for trees, you’ve beautified your city, contributed to the greater good, and helped re-tree DC.

Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our work. From advocating to inventorying to planting and outreach, we could not nearly do as much as we can without your help. Thank you for being such an important part of Casey Trees’ story and success over the past 21 years. To play an even greater part in our future, consider becoming a Casey Trees Member or making a one-time donation in celebration of all the hard work! Stay tuned for special announcements on ways to get involved this week and highlights from the work we have planned! Plus grab a ticket to celebrate at the Earth Day 5k in partnership with Little Sesame Saturday, April 23 — only a few spots left!
