Free Trees - Casey Trees

As a nonprofit organization, Casey Trees plants, cares for, and protects trees in the national capital region. Through this program, our professional arborists will help you choose the tree(s) that fit best in your yard. Up to 25 trees may be planted on the same property. One of our urban foresters will contact you to start the process.

If you’ve already purchased and planted a tree on your property, you can get up to $100 back through our Tree Rebate Program. The program is only extended to DC residents or trees that will be planted at Washington, DC addresses.

Tree Planting Information

We can only plant trees on private property, not the public right-of-way (the strip of grass between the sidewalk and street). For any requests in that space, please reach out to the city using 311.

Tell us about the location where the new tree(s) will be planted, and if you have any requests for the new tree planting (for instance, if you know the tree species you would like planted).

Upon submitting this form, a copy of your response will be sent to the email you have provided. A Casey Trees representative will get back to you as soon as possible. Depending on our arborists' capacity and availability, it could be up to 6-12 weeks, but we hope to get back to you sooner than that. Additionally, sometimes our correspondence ends up in spam folders so don't forget to check there before reaching out. Thank you.
