THE LEAFLET

We started with 16 cherries – natives, showy blossoms, Tidal Basin residents, and backyard staples. 

Y’all narrowed down the competition week after week. The Kwanzan cherry didn’t make it and neither Sweet nor Sour cherries survived. Not even the Yoshino cherry made it to the finals!

The vote came down to the multiple plumes of the Shirofugen Cherry and the structural beauty of the Weeping Cherry. 

It was a close contest – 53% to 47% but the winner is...Weeping Cherry! Thank you to each and every one of you that voted in your favorite and provided a much needed March Madness replacement.
