More Winter Events!

From workshops to basketball games, we have a busy season full of different events and classes for you to come find us at. Since the start of the year, we’re back with more happenings that will keep you outside and educated on all things trees. Be sure to keep your eyes on the calendar for more volunteer opportunities and outdoor experiences throughout the season!

Monday 01/30 – Urban Trees 101

Join Casey Trees with the City of Hyattsville for a virtual discussion on the importance of trees in our city spaces. Learn how arborists choose the “right tree, for the right place,” and how you can connect and care for your trees. Check out other opportunities with the City of Hyattsville on their Tree Care page. This is the first in a series of programs with Casey Trees and the City of Hyattsville in 2023. Future program dates will be announced soon.

Friday 02/10 – Meet Your Neighbors Bark and Buds Winter Tree Walk with Right Proper Brewing

Join Casey Trees for our first neighborhood walk of 2023 and warm up while learning about winter characteristics of trees! We’ll start at the Casey Trees office at 3030 12th St NE, taking a walk around the neighborhood to appreciate the bark and buds of our local trees as they prepare for spring. Afterward, we’ll stop by Right Proper where we invite you to linger for a chat, a beverage, or both! No tree ID experience is necessary, and we encourage all to attend.

Saturday 2/11 – Community Tree Care at Wangari Gardens

Join Casey Trees out in the field this February as we care for young trees! Your help with weeding, mulching, and maintaining these vulnerable trees will give them a leg up in becoming an important part of our growing tree canopy.
Saturday 03/04 – Wizards Green Night Game

An exciting collab on the horizon is a partnership with our very own Wizards! Please join the Washington Wizards and Casey Trees on Saturday March 4th vs. the Raptors to promote environmental awareness. A portion of each ticket purchased will go toward planting trees in the DMV area. Get your tickets for the Green Night game HERE!

Donate to Casey Trees to Restore, Enhance and Protect D.C.’s Tree Canopy! Casey Trees relies on the support of friends, neighbors, and volunteers like you to make our work possible.
