Our summer volunteer season continues with several opportunities to care for young trees and remove invasive vines throughout the city!
Register today for one of our Community Tree cares or join our partners in removing invasive vines.
Side note: In addition to mulch and water, trees need our voices right now. The proposed FY 2026 DC budget threatens to undermine decades of progress by making dramatic cuts to the very programs that protect our environment. Send a message to your Councilmember, urging them to prioritize funding for our city’s trees and green spaces, and our children’s futures! It takes 2 minutes.
UPCOMING TREE CARE EVENTS:
Saturday, 6/28 – Community Conservation at Langdon Park
Join Casey Trees as we continue our work conserving the forest patch and trail at Langdon Park. You’ll help clip back invasive species and remove vines to protect young trees. After learning the tools and techniques, participants will split up into groups and begin working throughout the park.
Saturday, 7/19 – Community Tree Care at Kelly Miller Park and Recreation Center
Join Casey Trees for a rewarding day of service at Kelly Miller Park and Recreation Center! We will be mulching and removing weeds from newly planted trees around the park. We provide all the necessary tools and supplies to care for trees. After a short, hands-on training, volunteers will begin caring for trees throughout the park.

Help remove invasive vines, which pose a significant threat to the health and survival of trees throughout our community. Sign up to volunteer at an upcoming event with Chesapeake Climate Action Network. Instructions and tools will be provided.
