We’re officially in Round 3, and the excitement is building as trees continue to battle for the ultimate title. The competition is fierce, and our tree-loving community has spoken—let’s dive into the latest matchups and see which contenders are still standing tall!
One of the most dominant performances of the round came from the American Sycamore, which soared past Honey Locust with a commanding 81% of the vote. The Sycamore’s distinctive peeling bark and towering presence proved to be an unstoppable force in this matchup.
Meanwhile, Bald Cypress secured its spot in the next round by claiming 61% of the vote against Loblolly Pine. Known for its resilience and striking fall color, Bald Cypress showcased why it remains a fan favorite.
In a closely watched contest, Swamp White Oak pushed out American Elm with 54% of the vote, proving that its adaptability and stunning seasonal changes make it a strong competitor. Similarly, Eastern Redbud clinched victory over Serviceberry with 54% of the vote, thanks to its vibrant spring blossoms and ornamental appeal.
Some trees made their mark with solid victories, including Red Maple, which captured 58% of the vote over River Birch, and Willow Oak, which claimed 63% of the vote against American Linden. Tuliptree also emerged victorious, garnering 66% of the vote against American Persimmon.
Finally, Southern Magnolia’s iconic evergreen foliage and fragrant blooms helped it triumph over Dawn Redwood with 60% of the vote, securing its place in the next round.
