We could not do the work that we do without our Members! These donors who give at least $50 a year play an important role in restoring, enhancing, and protecting the tree canopy of communities throughout DC. If you’re already a member, thank you! If you’d like to help trees more directly in your community, consider joining. Since trees need our care and protection year-round, giving monthly is the best way to support them. Or if a one-time-gift is what’s best for you, both make a big impact on our urban forest!

We know the most important thing for our donors is knowing that the money they give us is being used to plant and protect trees in their community. Because of this, we’ve designed our membership program so that all donations are completely tax-deductible with no expensive premiums that take away from your donation being spent on tree planting, care, and advocacy in the District! But we still want to show our appreciation for that support – so our members get advance registration to volunteer events and classes, periodic discounts at our online store, and advance access to our annual Tree Report Card.

Since our volunteer events and classes always fill up quickly, normally the most valued member benefit is advance registration. While we do have some socially distant tree walks this fall (that Members had advance access to but available to you now too), this perk is unfortunately not the most useful at the moment. So, to show how much we still appreciate our members, this week we’re sending them all our brand-new Member Guide – full of helpful information on trees in DC – and some of our new stickers. We’ll send them to you too when you join!

Trees, parks, gardens, and other green spaces bring a much-needed vibrancy to DC. Your support ensures we can continue to deliver on the adage, “the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is right now”.
