Tips & Tricks for a Successful Canopy Awards

Work out Your Arrival Game Plan: Dock5 and Union Market provide plenty of transit options. Free parking is available in the Neal Place lot or on the street. It’s a short walk from the Red Line at the NoMA-Gallaudet stop, and plenty of bike racks are available. And great news! Dock5 is completely accessible with elevator and ramp access. If you’ve been to Union Market, keep in mind the entrance to Dock5 is on the other side of the building.

Study Up on Timing: Doors at Dock5 will open at 6:00 pm sharp, where you’ll be treated to refreshing drinks and can meander through the Silent Auction Preview. Make sure you bid your best! We’ll have plenty of cool prizes – places such as Shake Shack and Milk Bar, SoulCycle, Republic Restoratives, Ingleside Vineyard, and the Washington Nationals are auctioning off items, and all the proceeds help us restore, enhance, and protect the tree canopy of the nation’s capital. The full party begins a 6:30 pm and we’ll shower our honorees with their awards around 8:00 pm.

Join in on the Social Media Action: Be sure to tag your snaps, tweets, stories, and posts with #CanopyAwards and feel free to follow us on Twitter and Instagram @CaseyTrees and Facebook @CaseyTreesDC. Share those goofy photobooth shots, take photos with fancy folks you typically see in hiking boots, and show off your silent auction win for all the internet to see!

Get a Feel for the Event: Did you know we have recaps from all past Canopy Awards? The First Annual feels like yesterday! And remember when we trekked to Blind Whino? All that action and more are in the recaps.

Grab Your Ticket: Feels silly to say this, but we had to be sure! Tickets are still on sale here. If you already have yours, check that your friends follow suit.

See you in less than two weeks!
