Brookland’s Green Wall: Big, Bright and Blooming

The largest green wall in DC is not at the Wharf nor in Georgetown or downtown – it’s across the street from the Casey Trees HQ in Brookland! We first talked about the new and improved Pepco substation facade in 2017 right after we planted and showed an update last year.

As you can see from the before and after photos, a few vines go a long way! The area is now greener, cooler, less noisy and far more desirable than before – all due to the hard work of committed neighbors, a willing corporate partner, and – our intrepid board member and attorney Charles Flickinger – who spearheaded the work on all the documentation required!

What the progress photos do not show is what it looks like in all its blooming beauty. So thanks to the Brookland Bridge blog, enjoy some photos!

It was even featured in our Arbor Day Delivered merch photoshoot! Our meal deal with Little Sesame ensures you celebrate Arbor Day in style while eating delicious food and supporting your friendly neighborhood tree nonprofit and DC’s tree heroes. Order yours today – Arbor Day is Friday!
