Civic Tech for Climate Action

Connecting technologist volunteers with local non-profits, government employees, and meetup groups working on local climate issues. Michaila Musman, the Senior Program Manager at Casey Trees, will present on how the District’s trees act as important urban infrastructure to mitigate the Urban Heat Island effect. Using DC’s OpenData portal, Michaila will demonstrate how disparate data sources can be used to prioritize communities that need the benefits of trees the most.
