Our Impact at a Glance
We believe the best measure of accountability is impact. Every tree we plant and protect contributes to cleaner water, breathable air, cooler streets, and stronger communities.
Here’s what your support helped achieve last year:

Planted over 7,000 trees across DC and the greater capital region, with a focus on planting trees in communities that need them the most.

Educated over 1,000 students at over 25 DC schools, and provided countless out-of-school and camp experiences throughout the year.

Engaged with over 4,000 volunteers at tree planting events, tree care events, and youth programs that inspire community action.

Partnered with local organizations to host over 30 invasive vine removal volunteer events and save over 1,500 trees.

Protected over 500 trees on 10 conservation sites across DC and MD as a newly accredited land trust.
Beyond the numbers, each program initiative represents a commitment to health equity, sustainability, and neighborhood resilience. Learn more about how your donations and volunteer hours grow a stronger urban forest by reviewing our FY2025 Impact Report (below).

Our FY2025 Impact Report outlines not only our impact in the communities we serve—for instance, highlighting which of our top tree species were planted and where—but also our financials, including how revenue is used and how all of our programming is funded.
Financial Stewardship
Every dollar we receive is invested in programs that make a lasting difference, from planting trees in neighborhoods that need them most, to educating tomorrow’s tree stewards, to conserving and protecting forested land, to engaging residents in hands-on environmental stewardship.
We publish our IRS Form 990 and audited financial statements annually to ensure full transparency. These documents show how funds are managed across programmatic, administrative, and fundraising efforts.
