August is National Make-A-Will Month, a time to reflect on how we care for the people we love and the places that shape our lives.
At Casey Trees, we think about the future every day. We plant trees that will outlive us, educate future tree stewards, and conserve green spaces the next generations will enjoy. This long-term vision drives our goal to reach 40% tree canopy coverage across DC by 2032. Thanks to community members like you, we planted over 7,000 trees across DC last year.
Just like we make a plan to care for the urban forest, this month is a meaningful moment to make a plan for your future.
That’s why we’re proud to introduce FreeWill, a free, easy-to-use online resource. In just 20 minutes, you can create or update your will from the comfort of home.
No matter your life stage, having a plan in place helps you:
- Protect your loved ones
- Make your wishes known
- Reflect the values and causes that matter most to you
While creating your will, you’ll have the option (but no obligation) to include a gift to Casey Trees. Many supporters choose to do this as a way to protect and enhance DC’s tree canopy well beyond their lifetime. A legacy gift of any size can make an impact for generations to come.
