After the eating of Thanksgiving and the flurry of activities of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, comes a day of giving back. #GivingTuesday, an online global day of giving, started as an antithesis to the consumerism of the start of the holiday shopping season. It serves to encourage folks to come together for one common purpose — to celebrate generosity and to give to their favorite charities.
While every year it is special seeing our people come out in full force to support us, this year offers an opportunity to do something big. Thanks to our generous board, we’re matching the first $5,000 in donations – on #GivingTuesday only. All you need to do is head to our Facebook Fundraiser next week on December 3. (Although if you want to jump-start your giving, we won’t stop you).
This is your chance to double your gift to Casey Trees and therefore double our impact on D.C.’s urban canopy. Each and every dollar donated on #GivingTuesday will go towards restoring, enhancing, and protecting what we love most – our urban forest.
