Before 2025 comes to an end, we wanted to reflect on our accomplishments over the past year and share our impact by the numbers.
For Casey Trees, 2025 was a year of remarkable momentum and transformative milestones—from earning national accreditation as DC’s first and only city-wide land trust to breaking ground on our eighth production field at the Casey Tree Farm, which will cultivate an additional 10,000 trees and elevate total production capacity to more than 60,000. We co-hosted a sold-out Urban Tree Summit that convened regional leaders on urban forestry, championed protections for heritage trees at RFK Stadium and across the District, gave away free trees at community events citywide, and planted thousands more to grow our urban canopy. With so much progress to celebrate, the path ahead feels greener than ever.
We want to sincerely thank you for being a part of our mission. Take a look below at what else your support helped us accomplish this year.
(And if you’d like to help keep this work going, please consider making a tax-deductible donation so we can continue to restore, enhance, and protect our tree canopy for years to come.)

New Trees in the Ground
With your support, we planted over 7,000 trees across DC and the greater capital region, focusing on communities that need them the most.
Environmental Education Takes Root
We educated over 1,000 students at over 25 DC schools, and provided countless out-of-school experiences and camp programs throughout the year.

Volunteers Are the Heart of Our Work
Over 4,000 volunteers joined us at tree planting events, tree care events, and youth programs that inspire community stewardship of our tree canopy.
Community Conservation
We partnered with local organizations to host over 30 invasive vine removal volunteer events and save over 1,500 trees.

DC’s Only Accredited Land Trust
This year, Casey Trees became an accredited land trust. With 10 conservation sites across DC and MD, we protected over 500 young and mature trees this year, with more on the way.
Every dollar we receive is invested in programs that make a lasting difference, from planting trees in neighborhoods that need them most to educating tomorrow’s tree stewards and protecting forested land.
Every tree we plant and protect contributes to cleaner water, breathable air, cooler streets, and stronger communities. Every student we educate is a future tree steward. Every volunteer we engage brings our community closer to the trees that keep us healthy and happy.
We couldn’t have done all of this without you.

Before you log off for the year, please make a gift today that will set us up for success in the year to come, so we can continue to plant, care for, and protect DC’s tree canopy.
