Last Saturday, we held our final community tree planting of the season in the beautiful city of Hyattsville. We joined forces with the residents of Langley Terrace Apartments and other community members for a vibrant morning of planting—and what a day it was! Despite the cold weather, with temperatures making hats and gloves a must, spirits were high, and everyone was thrilled to be out planting trees. Together, we added 51 beautiful trees to the apartment complex’s grounds, bringing new life and shade to the area.
We couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up our planting season. The energy and teamwork on display were inspiring, with neighbors, volunteers, and residents working side by side to transform the space.
This event’s connection to our recent tree planting at Liberty Place Apartments, right across the street, makes it
even more remarkable. Just a few weeks ago, we planted 53 trees there, creating a lush, growing canopy for the neighborhood. With these two plantings combined, the city of Hyattsville can now boast over 100 new trees—an incredible step forward in building a healthier and more beautiful environment.
The collaboration and enthusiasm we witnessed at Langley Terrace highlight the strength of this community and its commitment to making a difference. It’s not just about the trees; it’s about the roots we’re planting together, creating spaces that generations to come will enjoy.
To everyone who bundled up and joined us at Langley Terrace and Liberty Place: thank you for showing up, digging in, and helping us create a greener neighborhood. This season’s planting may be done, but the benefits of your hard work will continue to grow!
