As the days grow longer and warmer, we’ve got some fantastic updates to share from the Casey Tree Farm.

First up, our recently planted Strawberry Moon Chitalpas have finally decided to show off their beautiful pink blossoms, and they are absolutely stunning! These trees are known for their gorgeous flowers and ability to thrive in various conditions. Their vibrant pink blooms are a new highlight of the farm, adding a splash of color and charm that we’re all loving.

We chose the Strawberry Moon Chitalpas not only for their beauty but also for their resilience. They’ve settled in nicely and seem to be enjoying their new home as much as we enjoy having them. The blossoms are a delightful addition, creating a picturesque landscape that will eventually brighten up residences, schools, parks, and other community spaces in DC.

In even more exciting news, we have embarked on a significant expansion project. We are in the process of adding a new planting block to our farm, which will accommodate an impressive 15,000 new trees. This addition will bolster our current inventory, bringing us to over 50,000 trees!

This new planting block represents a significant milestone for us. It’s not just about increasing our numbers, but also about enhancing the diversity and health of our ecosystem. Plus, it’s a big step forward in our mission to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.

As we take care of these new trees, we can’t wait to see how they’ll grow and eventually make their way to DC, where they’ll continue to thrive and beautify the city.
