Phenology February: Final Vote

Hey tree fans, we’ve made it to the homestretch of Phenology February, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride! Last week, things got seriously close – we’re talking nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat kind of stuff. Eastern Redbud narrowly beat out Southern Magnolia by just 2 votes, and Scarlet Oak squeaked by American Sycamore with a tight-vote lead.

For those just joining this leafy spectacle, Phenology February stands as Casey Trees’ groundbreaking tree competition, drawing inspiration from the fervor of March Madness and other legendary battles. This month-long celebration invites tree enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the wonders of nature.

The final showdown is here, and you don’t want to miss it! Eastern Redbud (a flowering local favorite!) is going head-to-head with Scarlet Oak (DC State’s own shade giant!) for the ultimate title of arboreal champion. Both fought through fierce competition, and now it’s up to you to decide who takes the final win.
