Saturday, September 30th – RESCHEDULED – National Public Lands Day – Fort DuPont Park Tree Care and Invasive Removal
Join Casey Trees as we partner with the National Capitol Parks East and National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) for the 29th annual National Public Lands Day. Help Casey Trees as we care for young trees at Fort Dupont on Saturday, September 30th (Rescheduled Date) as a part of this impactful nation-wide day of service. Your help with weeding, invasive removal and watering these vulnerable trees will give them a leg up in becoming an important part of our growing tree canopy.
Saturday, September 30th – Festival Del Rio Anacostia
Bring your family to celebrate outdoors and the Anacostia River. Enjoy hands-on activities, crafts, entertainment, delicious food, free boat rides, fishing demos, live animals, and free giveaways. Learn about the Chesapeake Bay and drinking water health.
Saturday, October 7th – Community Tree Planting at Stoddard Baptist Global Care
Come join us for the return of the tree planting season at Stoddard Baptist Global Care! You provide the volunteers, we provide all the necessary tools and supplies to plant the trees. Participants will receive a hands-on training on site. After learning the tools and techniques, participants will be split up into groups supervised by a trained volunteer Team Leader and begin planting trees throughout the park.
Thursday, October 12th – Upward Ground Conference
This immersive, dynamic half-day summit, presented by the USDA Forest Service, featured interactive exhibits and local student and community leaders to support emerging Black leaders and professionals in demanding and achieving environmental justice and climate action.
Saturday, October 14th – Kingman Island Friends and Family Day
Explore Kingman + Heritage Islands on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 10:00am – 2:00pm, with your family and friends! Experience all the amazing activities the islands offer including paddling, nature walks, fishing, scavenger hunts, and so much more!
Thursday, October 26th – Casey Trees Information Session in Partnership with tentree
Swing by for a sustainable sip, meet friendly faces and learn about making an impact through tree planting!
Saturday, October 28th – Late Skate at Anacostia Skate Park
Come get your skate on! Join Friends of Anacostia Park, REI, APACC, the LinkUP DC and the National Park Service for a day of music, recreation and kinship in DC’s most storied skating venue.
