You can learn about trees in the aquatic gardens at Kenilworth or test your tree knowledge at Treevia night – No matter what, you’re in for a good time!

Come get your skate on! Join Friends of Anacostia Park, APACC, the LinkUP DC and the National Park Service for a day of music, recreation and kinship in DC’s most storied skating venue.
Thursday 8/3 – Treevia at Right Proper Brewing Co
Experience an amazing evening of Tree-via, hosted at Right Proper Brewing Co. Gather with friends and fellow tree enthusiasts to test your tree-related knowledge and discover fascinating facts about these majestic wonders of nature. Whether you’re a seasoned tree expert or just curious about the world of trees, everyone is welcome to join in on the excitement.
Saturday 8/5 – Tree Care at Takoma Rec
Help Casey Trees care for trees at the Takoma Park Recreation Center! Your help with mulching and watering these vulnerable young trees will give them a leg up in becoming an important part of our growing tree canopy.
Saturday 8/12 – Tree Care at Turkey Thicket
Help Casey Trees care for young trees! Your help with weeding, mulching and watering these vulnerable trees will give them a leg up in becoming an important part of our growing tree canopy. You provide the volunteers, we provide all the necessary tools and supplies to care for trees. Participants will receive a short, hands-on training on site. After learning the tools and techniques, participants will split up into groups and begin caring for trees throughout the park.
Saturday 8/19 – Tree Walk and Forest Bathing at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens
Join Casey Trees and the Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens for a joint Tree Walk and Forest Bathing session as a part of WELLderness (An Outdoor Wellness Series). After our tree ID walk, we’ll decompress and further connect with nature through a guided forest-bathing experience led by Sage, a certified forest bathing guide. Forest bathing is the act of immersing yourself in nature in order to experience its unique benefits, including reduced stress and improved mental health.
