Sunday 6/25 – Land Conservation Day at Hellbender Brewing

Join us on our conservation easement “Hellbender Hill” to celebrate all the benefits of protected green spaces! Celebrate with Tree Tours, Tree-via (Tree based trivia!), Live Music, Raffles & Games, as well as BBQ food truck (Beef Space BBQ), partner tables, and several games all open 1-7pm. Exclusive seasonal beer, “Fruit for Thought” Serviceberry Saison served – a Saison brewed with berries picked from local Serviceberry trees. Proceeds from this beer support Casey Trees’ efforts to restore, enhance, and protect DC’s tree canopy.

Tuesday 6/27 – Tree Care at Anacostia Skate Park Pavilion

Join us as Casey Trees teams up with Friends of Anacostia Park for a fun day of service around the Skate Park Pavilion! We will be mulching some of our newly planted trees (planted by our volunteers last year!) around the park along with other organizations who will be conducting various clean up and service activities around the area. Your help with weeding, mulching and watering these vulnerable trees will give them a leg up in becoming an important part of our growing tree canopy.

Saturday 7/8 – Tree Care – Ivy Removal at Missionaries of Charity

Join us at Missionaries of Charity to clean up our green space and remove invasive English Ivy from the beautiful trees on the property. You provide the volunteers, we provide all the necessary tools and supplies to remove invasives and care for this green space. Participants will receive a short, hands-on training on site. After learning the tools and techniques, participants will split up into groups and begin working throughout the cemetery.

Wednesday 7/19 – Advocacy brown Bag Webinar

Join staff from Casey Trees’ Policy & Land Conservation team as we explore what it means to be an advocate for both the environment and your community. You can expect to learn about the structure of the District’s government and the agencies that work on environmental issues here in DC, and how Casey Trees approaches advocacy. Register for our event and help make DC a greener city!

Saturday 7/29 Late Skate at Anacostia Skate Park Pavilion

Come get your skate on! Join APACC, Friends of Anacostia Park, the LinkUP DC, and the National Park Service for a day of music, recreation and kinship in DC’s most storied skating venue.
