Ensure D.C.’s Trees Beat the Heat

Did you know D.C.’s trees are worth almost $4.5 billion?

What could $24 do for D.C.’s trees? What about $48? Even $124? Do More 24 — a 24-hour online day of giving powered by the United Way of the National Capital Area — goes from noon on Thursday, May 17 to noon on Friday, May 18. And we’re asking for your support.

Last year, individuals across the District donated more than $1.1 million to nonprofits serving the D.C. community, allowing these organizations to better our community in diverse ways.

And once again, Casey Trees is taking part. Young trees need 25 gallons of water a week throughout the summer to survive. Help us ensure our newly planted trees make it! You have 24 hours to contribute here.

Your gift of $24 can…

  • Cover the cost to provide Ooze Tube watering bags and water for 10 newly planted trees, helping to ensure that they will survive the brutal D.C. summer temperatures.

Your gift of $48 can…

  • Cover the cost to provide Ooze Tube watering bags and water for 20 newly planted trees.

Your gift of $124 can…

  • Cover the cost to provide Ooze Tube watering bags and water for 40 newly planted trees – the average number we plant at a Community Tree Planting!

Your gift of $240 can…

  • Cover the cost to provide Ooze Tube watering bags and water for 100 newly planted trees.

Your gift of $480 can…

  • Cover the cost to provide Ooze Tube watering bags and water 200 newly planted trees.

Watering is the easiest and most cost effective way to ensure young trees happily establish and grow into magnificent shade trees.

Thanks for Doing More this Thursday and showing your support for D.C.’s trees!
