Too Many to Choose: Mystical Trees Round II

Turns out there are plenty of memorable and mystical trees from movies, t.v., and books – so many that we have five more to share this week!

Groot from Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”

Actually, Groot isn’t a tree at all – he’s a sentient, tree-like creature from outer space – but we couldn’t resist including him. While he says just three words – “I am Groot” – his incredible strength and ability to control other plant forms make him quite the asset on an intergalactic crime fighting squad.

Tree of Gondor from the Lord of the Rings

A symbol of the realm of Gondor in the Lord of the Rings, the White Tree grows in the Court of the Fountain at Minas Tirith (aka the White House of Gondor).

Apple Trees from the Wizard of Oz

While the apple trees in “The Wizard of Oz” only makes a brief appearance in the 1939 movie — alongside his equally crabby brothers — but he very well may have started this whole “talking tree” craze.

The Giving Tree from the Giving Tree

To say that this particular apple tree is a “giving tree” is an understatement. Making the boy happy makes the tree happy, but with time it becomes more challenging for the generous tree to meet his growing needs.

Truffula Trees from the Lora

Because how could we have a memorable trees list without the Lorax, the original tree champion.

While they’re not mystical, shade trees are superheros in cities – add one to your yard with our residential planting programs today!
