Get Ready, Get Set for the ISA Annual International Conference and Trade Show

The arborists are coming! The arborists are coming! This year the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) is hosting its annual conference in D.C. and even if you’re not a certified arborist or in an arboricultural professional there are plenty of events to take advantage of.

For starters, the ISA Annual International Conference and Trade Show, from July 28 – August 2, is the world’s premier gathering of arboricultural professionals, where practicing arborists and urban foresters come together with top researchers and educators.

Headed to the conference? We’re proud to host a tree tour for conference attendees! Join us for an exciting and educational field experience around the city – including local cherished natural spots not normally covered by tours of D.C. See our city through the eyes of our partners including: The Nature Conservancy, the District Department of the Environment, the Urban Forestry Division, Living Classrooms and many more. Learn why we not only love the livability of the District but also the trees!

Not planning on attending the conference? There are plenty of unique activities to check out – especially the International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC) from July 28-30! Cheer on your local representatives as they compete for the title of World Champion at the National Arboretum. With tree and plant identification walks, bonsai workshops, exhibitors and vendors to check out, the day is full of activities and events. The Arboretum even decked out its famous bonsai trees with miniature tree climbers for the occasion.
