Casey Trees Headquarters: Then & Now

One of the best things about working here at Casey Trees is our headquarters.

There’s nothing quite like walking through the rain garden on a hot morning and instantly feeling the cooling effect from our two hardy river birches.

Aside from the rain garden there are three green roofs (vegetation blanket, modular and traditional systems), a cistern (for capturing and irrigating the rain garden) and a bioretention planter.

All of these green infrastructure features work together to create a low-impact development (LID) that helps filter out pollutants in stormwater and reduce runoff. Doing so helps maintain and enhance our urban watershed.

The craziest part about all of these systems working in tandem, is how all the plants thrive.

We were looking through photos of when the gardens, roofs and grounds were planted six years ago and the contrast between then and now is amazing.
