Primary Education Curriculum
Our Restoring Our Own Trees Through Service (ROOTS) program is our primary education initiative. This program adheres to D.C. science standards for education and is used to connect K- 8 grade educators and students to their schoolyard environment by creating an outdoor classroom without leaving the school. Our ROOTS curriculum combines science, art, math and literature with fun, hands-on environmental education.

TreeWise Summer Youth Program
TreeWise Summer Youth Program is our nature- and place-based summer education program, developed to get kids outdoors and energized about the trees around them. Casey Trees’ education staff travels to summer camps across the District to lead hands-on, interactive lessons that incorporate physical activities with information about trees and their benefits. This free, once-weekly program is targeted at 6- to 13-year-olds. If you are an organization that wants to participate in our summer program, learn more and apply online.
