The Canopy Awards
The Fourth Annual Canopy Awards will be filled with food and drink, special guests and endless fun dedicated to celebrating D.C.’s trees and Arbor Day.
We will also pay tribute to five individuals and groups — soon to be announced — going above and beyond to re-tree D.C.
Our theme, which we keep under wraps until the big night, changes every year — so prepare to be surprised on April 27, 2017, Arbor Day Eve.
The Canopy Awards is made possible by generous financial and in-kind contributions from our sponsors.
Join the ranks of the community-minded businesses working to help re-tree D.C. by becoming a Canopy Awards Sponsor today.
All raised funds benefit Casey Trees.
Casey Trees will be hosting the Fourth Annual Canopy Awards at one of D.C.’s best hidden gems, The Blind Whino. Tucked in the southwest corner near the Navy Yard Metro, this former abandoned church was re-imagined in October 2012 by artist HENSE.
Location | 700 Delaware Avenue SW W DC
Silent Auction: 2017
Each year, businesses and individuals contribute stellar goods and services to be auctioned off at the Canopy Awards. Last year our guests found box tickets to Phantom of the Opera tickets at the Kennedy Center next to Chincoteague Island getaways; artisan sculptures next to gourmet wine and food; and original artwork next to autographed sports memorabilia. The array of offerings was amazing and all the proceeds benefited Casey Trees.
