Volunteer and Event Participation Waiver

By participating in Casey Trees’ events, the participant understands that Casey Trees activities involve potentially strenuous and hazardous activities and there are risks of accidents arising out of these activities. The participant acknowledges that she/he/they has the physical capabilities reasonably necessary to engage in these activities.

The participant expressly assumes all risks of injury, bodily harm, or property damage arising out of the event with Casey Trees, and further acknowledges that she/he/they is responsible for his/her/their own insurance coverage and Casey Trees has no liability or responsibility to the participant for any medical, health or other benefits or compensation.

The participant releases and forever discharges Casey Trees, its successors and assigns, employees, officers, directors and agents, and any sponsoring organizations from any and all claims, liabilities and demands of any kind or nature, in law or equity, arising out of the participant’s services to Casey Trees, including any claims for bodily injury, death, illness or property damage occurring while engaged with Casey Trees, even if caused by the negligence or reckless conduct of a Casey Trees employee or volunteer.

In case of emergency or accident, the participant gives permission for any first aid treatment or other medical services rendered on their behalf, and releases Casey Trees from any and all liability in connection with any medical services. The participant agrees to be the responsible party for all medical expenses incurred on their behalf.

The participant grants Casey Trees and its associated partners, contractors, and other participating organizations all rights, title and interest in any photographs, images, video or other media recordings of themselves or their likeness or voice in connection with their time with Casey Trees. This includes the right to capture, use, reproduce, and distribute photographs, images, video, or other media recordings of the participant or their likeness. This permission extends to any legitimate purpose, including but not limited to advertising, promotional materials, social media, websites, and other public communications.

Participants agree to comply with the written instructions above. Failure to comply with these written instructions or verbal instructions from staff may result in being removed from events and participants may be asked to cease any further activities or opportunities on behalf of Casey Trees.

Additional Youth Waiver

Parents or guardians of minor children who wish to volunteer services to Casey Trees acknowledge and agree that the nature of the volunteer services which are typically performed by Casey Trees volunteers, and which may be performed by a child as a Casey Trees volunteer, may involve (a) physical activity (including without limitation work with heavy tools and materials), (b) contact with unidentified and unfamiliar persons, and (c) other potential risk. Notwithstanding the preceding sentence, in connection with a child’s participation as a Casey Trees volunteer or in any Casey Trees related project or activity, parents/guardians willingly and freely agree to have their child volunteer and hereby assume any and all risk, and release Casey Trees, its successors and assigns, employees, officers, directors and agents, and any sponsoring organizations, from any claims, liabilities and demands of any kind or nature, including without limitation risk of any accident, injury, illness or death to person or property which their child may sustain, even if caused by the negligent or reckless conduct of a Casey Trees employee or volunteer. Parents/guardians understand that their child will not receive any monetary compensation for the services contributed or be guaranteed any future position at Casey Trees.

Parents/guardians give permission for their children to be given emergency medical treatment and/or transportation if necessary in the event of accident, injury or sudden illness while said minor is engaged in volunteer service to Casey Trees. They agree to accept all financial responsibility for any such medical treatment and transport.

Parents/guardians grant Casey Trees and its associated partners, contractors, and other participating organizations all rights, title and interest in any photographs, images, video or other media recordings of their child or their child’s likeness or voice in connection with volunteer services or program participation with Casey Trees. This includes the right to capture, use, reproduce, and distribute photographs, images, video, or other media recordings of the participant or their likeness. This permission extends to any legitimate purpose, including but not limited to advertising, promotional materials, social media, websites, and other public communications.

Parents/guardians further acknowledge the following: I have read this release (or have had it read to me) and fully understand each and every one of the provisions in this release, and I hereby voluntarily give my express consent and agree to abide by the terms of this release.
