Pond Cypress

Taxodium ascendens

The pond cypress is a graceful pyramid-shaped tree with dark, shaggy bark and light-green leaves that turn orange-red in the fall.

Size and Light Requirements

The pond cypress does best in full sun, and is somewhat smaller and more compact than its cousin, the bald cypress. It will reach about 30 feet in height in 30 to 40 years.
