The many benefits of an environmental education

Communities thrive when we come together to learn about the positive impact that nature has on our well-being. We bring people together of all ages to learn about the benefits trees provide, how to care for them, and how to protect them. When more information is shared and communities connect, everyone is empowered to be stewards of their surrounding natural places. We do this through technical programs, family programs, and partnership programs.

Looking for ways to learn about our urban forest, volunteer, or just connect with nature? Our programs offer a variety of ways to get kids and adults engaged in meaningful experiences to learn about trees and the importance of our green spaces.

Youth Programs

We partner with local schools to plant free trees to increase schoolyard canopy, bring an environmental literacy framework to the classroom, and offer youth educational camps and sessions throughout the year. We revitalize school campuses, teach kids the value of our urban forest, and educate the next generation of environmental stewards.

Community Events & Family Programming

We offer community events throughout the year, including community tree plantings, tree tours, festivals, family park days, tree identification classes, invasive removal events, and more. There are many ways to learn, plant, care for, and protect trees – together.

Volunteer, Learn, & Lead

For those looking to deepen their knowledge, give back to their community, and lead others, we offer an avenue to volunteer, learn, and lead others. Become a Team Leader to educate and lead others at tree planting and tree care events.

Urban Tree Summit

Our annual symposium on the status of the urban tree canopy. The Urban Tree Summit offers attendees the opportunity to learn from industry-leading experts on their research and contributions to the field of urban forestry.
