This conference is a space for us to come together as a community that embraces the importance of our connection to nature and to one another. When we gather together, we recharge, we inspire each other, we learn from our successes and challenges, and we come out with a renewed strength to keep doing the work that we do.

This year’s theme, “Fortaleciendo comunidades y ecosistemas,” celebrates the work that many are doing to benefit our communities and bring nature back to urban spaces. Urban ecosystems and our Latino community are under unprecedented stress. Finding opportunities to collaborate and create partnerships is crucial right now. That’s why your participation is so important to make this conference a success.

Scheduled speakers include Dr. Gabriela D. Lemus of Maryland Latinos Unidos; Environmentalist and Educator Isaias Hernandez; Dr. Juan Declet-Barreto of the Union of Concerned Scientists; Author and Ecopsychologist Lorena Saavedra Smith; and Environmental Champion and Storyteller Orietta Estrada, among many other inspiring environmental professionals.

Topics will include community engagement and empowerment, environmental justice, green careers, youth, arts, faith, and much, much more. To amplify our support to communities this year, we are happy to host a small market! Local small businesses have been invited to offer products made with sustainable materials.

We know you’ll find this gathering as meaningful as we do, and your presence will help make it even more powerful.
