Learn about and celebrate the local winged heroes that help our community gardens and forests grow.
Butterflies, moths, and bumblebees keep life going – and food growing – in Deanwood and elsewhere. Celebrate Pollinator Week at the Faunteroy Center with a special program on nature’s small but important local heroes. The program will feature:
– A talk on pollinators and their community benefits by Stella Tarnay from Capital Nature and Vince Drader from Casey Trees
– The gardener experience by Jimell Sanders, Deanwood resident
– A short nature walk along Lederer Garden paths to appreciate the native trees and plants that support local bees, butterflies, and moths.
– Free resource materials on trees and native plants for Deanwood residents.
Join us to learn about and celebrate the small local heroes that keep our community growing. The program will include light food and bee-inspired refreshments!
Sponsored by: The Faunteroy Center, Casey Trees, Capital Nature, the Deanwood Citizens Association, and Friends of the Deanwood Library.
