Looking for a fun, educational, and meaningful experience for your kids during summer break? Join our summer camp, “Branching Out in Brookland: Get Creative With Nature,” from August 11-15 where campers will discover what trees do for our environment while exploring the natural wonders of Washington, DC. Designed for rising 4th and 5th graders, this full-week program is a unique opportunity for your child(ren) to become an environmental steward and develop a lifelong connection to the outdoors.

Part of our TreeWise youth programming, this camp was made for artists and nature lovers. Campers will focus on collecting materials from nature to create their own plant library to take home at the end of the week.

Every day at Branching Out in Brookland is special. Activities will be rooted in STEAM themes, including science experiments, neighborhood hiking, and a field trip! Campers will dive into topics like air quality, climate change, pollinators, urban forestry, caring for our local watershed, and stewardship. On the last day of camp, students will see these topics first-hand during a field trip to the Washington Youth Garden in the US National Arboretum. By the end of the week, campers will have made new friends, worked as a team, and cultivated a deeper appreciation for and connection to their local environment.

Casey Trees is committed to accessibility and equity in outdoor education. Thanks to generous support from grants and foundations, we can offer low-cost programs and scholarships. If cost is a barrier, please don’t hesitate to apply for a scholarship during registration.
