Our summer programming continues this August with lots of exciting events! Join Casey Trees as we continue to care for our canopy at one of our many tree care events, farmers markets, or with our partners Friends of Anacostia Park. Also visit the REACH plaza at the Kennedy Center to join us for fun activities and a viewing of the Lorax. We look forward to seeing you this August!

Saturday 7/27 – Tree Care at Highland Dwellings – Join the community in the care for trees! Located off the Oxon Run Trail and just blocks away from Washington Highland and Ferebee Hope Recreation Centers. We’ll give some newly planted trees the water, mulch, and weeding they need to continue to thrive.

Saturday 7/27 – Anacostia Community Museum Farmer’s Market – Stop by the FARMFRESH farmer’s market at the Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum, located in the Fort Stanton/Anacostia neighborhood of DC.

Friday 8/2 – Kennedy Center Outdoor Film Screening – Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax + Armenian Community Tree Planting Short Film – Join us for a FREE, fun forest film night with activities for all ages starting at 6pm on The REACH Plaza, followed at dusk by a short film by our partner Armenia Tree Project, and the feature film of The Lorax.

Saturday 8/3 – Tree Care at Capital Area Food Bank – Help Casey Trees care for young trees! Your help with weeding, mulching and watering these vulnerable trees will give them a leg up in becoming an important part of our growing tree canopy.

Saturday 8/17 – Tree Care at Anacostia Skate Park – Join us and Friends of Anacostia Park as we care for young trees. Activities include invasive species removal, trash cleanup, and other projects needed to help keep the park a safe and welcoming place for all.

Saturday 8/31 – Anacostia Skate Park Late Skate – Join our partners at Friend of Anacostia Park for this fun event!
