A Look into the Busy Planting Season

As the planting season kicks into high gear, it’s time to shine a spotlight on Casey Trees’ dedicated Tree Operations crew. Our team works tirelessly to restore, enhance, and protect the tree canopy of Washington, DC. Every hole dug, every root carefully nestled into the earth, is a testament to their unwavering commitment to our city’s green spaces. Rain or shine, they brave the elements, ensuring that each tree finds its rightful place in our urban landscape.

But their work goes beyond planting. They prune, water, and monitor our trees, ensuring that they have the best possible chance to grow and flourish. But perhaps most importantly, our crew is a testament to the power of community. They work hand in hand with volunteers, homeowners, and local organizations, forging connections and building a network of support for our city’s trees.

So, as you enjoy the beauty of spring and the sight of fresh green leaves unfurling against the sky, take a moment to appreciate the hard work and dedication of our Tree Operations crew. Without them, our mission to create a greener, healthier city would be just a dream.

Our Tree Operations crew aren’t the only busy ones this season! Our Education team is also hard at work teaching students all across the DMV about the value of trees in their environment. Recently, we held a tree planting at Belvedere Elementary (Falls Church, VA) where our education team was joined by members of our Farm crew to enrich and add to the landscape of the school.

And remember – you can accentuate your home with FREE trees through our residential planting program. By signing up, you not only receive free trees but also become a steward of our urban canopy, fostering cleaner air, enhanced green spaces, and a more vibrant city. You can also get up to $100 back for planting them yourself through our tree rebate program.
