March Event Sign Ups are Now Open

In the past five years, our city’s canopy has declined by over one percent – that’s enough trees to fill that National Mall. We need your help this season to plant new trees and care for the establishing ones so they can get us to our coveted 40% canopy by 2032 goal.

We’re releasing events month by month with a focus on care events and planting where there is the greatest potential for canopy. This will allow us to focus our efforts, remain agile and flexible, and involve even more people! We’re excited to offer diverse tree care and maintenance, tree plantings, educational and partnership events.

Spots will fill up quickly, though, so be sure to register now! Our volunteers and community are the backbones of what we do. We are endlessly grateful for your help in restoring, enhancing, and protecting the tree canopy of our nation’s capital.

Interested in becoming a Team Leader?

Our Team Leaders are a valuable part of our Community Tree Planting program and lead teams of volunteers through our plantings to ensure safety and well-planted trees! They are also easily recognized at plantings by their snazzy red safety vests.

This season, we hope to bring new Team Leaders into our ranks here at Casey Trees. If you are interested in becoming a Team Leader, fill out our Team Leader Interest Form to join our mailing list for information on upcoming training.

And while you’re at it, check out what our friends at Oxon Run are up to these days:

Friday, February 25 | Oxon Run Climate Energy Educational Event

Friday, March 11 | Oxon Run Heat Island Educational Event

Help us transform DC’s urban forest this year by joining our team of volunteers. Our opportunities are now open and fill up quickly! There’s a reason why priority registration is a coveted benefit of our Membership program. Join today to get advanced registration to plantings and events while supporting our work year-round.

Many of the events will take place in-person and outdoors, and a handful of events will be conducted virtually; see each Eventbrite for location details. We’ll continue to follow local Covid-19 protocols to ensure staff and participant safety.
