As part of our Meet in Your Park event series, we’re meeting folks around town. Stop by and chat with a staff member about planting trees at your home, local faith group, or community organization. We’re hosting activities to learn tree ID basics, youth activities like tree bingo, and handing out swag.
Saturday, October 16 | Volunteer Garden Prep: Anacostia High School | 9:00am – 12:00pm
Join us for a very special volunteer event! Anacostia High School is renovating their school courtyard with some beautiful new landscaping. This new plan includes a food forest, pollinator garden and berry patch, meditation labyrinth, memorial garden, and picnic area, and will bring new life and joy to this space and all the students who pass through it. The work we will be doing will be in preparation for our planting crew to come in the following week and finalize the plantings.
