$1,500 Raised, 1,500 Trees Watered, 1 Soaked Employee

Last year during the heatwave our crew managed to water 1,478 trees in a single day. During most tree care events we water around 30!

Well, records are made to be broken, and just like the athletes at the Olympics, that’s what our crew did this past week. It is paramount for the survival of young trees that they get 25 gallons of water a week. To sweeten the deal, we put out a call: if we water 1,500 trees and raise $1,500, a mystery member of Casey Trees would also get watered. Five nice, cool five-gallon buckets to be exact!

Well, they were out early and stayed out late – and the crew absolutely smash their goal by watering 1,966 trees in just one day. Who’s the lucky one to get doused? Well, considering he watered the most trees (232 to be exact!) Urban Forestry Crew Chief Kent cooled off next to a bald cypress in our rain garden in need of the recommended 25 gallons.

Impressed by our crew? Want to ensure trees around you aren’t thirsty? Donate to our efforts or take the pledge to water trees. After all, no one likes a thirsty friend.
