Choose Your Adventure: Virtual and In-Person Urban Tree Summit

We’re shaking things up this year with Montgomery Parks for our tenth annual Urban Tree Summit. We’re still learning, sharing, and coming together to talk about all things urban trees, but with one big difference.

In lieu of our traditional single day conference event, we have opted this year for a new format with intentions to promote public safety as well as provide a more impactful experience.

We are kicking off our event with a virtual session to allow anyone, far and wide, to learn from our speakers. With presentations from Carly Ziter, Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Concordia University, Montreal; Kevin Smith, Supervisory Plant Pathologist with the US Forest Service; Cecil Konijnendijk, Professor of Urban Forestry at the University of British Columbia and others, this half day online event allows our DC focused audience an opportunity to network with and hear from leading industry professionals from around the world. When you’re not constrained by location or travel, the sky’s the limit!

Following the virtual session, each week in September we will be hosting in-person field sessions. Each field session will repeat twice at a capacity of 25 attendees for each time slot. The introduction of these repeat sessions allows for both public safety as well as a more personal feel. We hope these smaller sessions will foster engaging conversations, networking opportunities, and a more impactful experience overall.

Session sizes are limited and early bird pricing ends July 6 so get your tickets now

Virtual Session | September 8 | Online

Field Session 1 | September 9 | Pope Farm, Montgomery Country, Maryland

Field Session 2 | September 16 | Arlington, Virginia

Field Session 3 | September 23 |  Langdon Park, Washington, DC

[Important to Note] Each weekly field session content will be the same at both the 9:30am and 12:30pm time slots, so be sure to choose only one time slot for each week. However, we do encourage attending multiple sessions across the month, as the topics will change week to week! All field sessions will be held in person on location.
The other great thing? You can register for both types of sessions – meet and greet around the world at our virtual session and then head out on your field session of choice. Jam packed schedule? Not in the DC region? Our virtual session is for you. No matter which you attend, know that you’re getting access to the latest and greatest in urban forestry, built environment and urban design presentations and practices.
