SUMMARY:Invasive Vine Removal at Hillcrest Park
DESCRIPTION:Work alongside staff from the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) and the District’s Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) to remove English Ivy from the trees at Hillcrest Park. \nWe will start with a brief training on invasive species and removal techniques then apply what we’ve learned by removing the arborized non-native invasive vine\, English ivy (Hedera helix) from the trees. \nPlease wear long pants\, long sleeves\, and close-toed shoes. Instructions and tools will be provided\, so just bring yourself and a good attitude! \nA reminder email will be sent out the day before with detailed instructions on where to meet. \nThis project is sponsored through a partnership between CCAN and Casey Trees\, and is funded in part by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service.
