An undervalued and overlooked landscape specimen, pitch pines are an architecturally striking, small to medium-sized evergreen tree, often having a crooked trunk, asymmetrical branches and striking orange-plated bark. It grows in poor soils and can withstand significant drought.
Size and Light Requirements
A relative slow grower especially as it ages. Under most conditions pitch pines will reach 30 feet in height in about 40 years. This tree needs full sun.
