How can I donate to Casey Trees?

Donations can be made online, by mail or over the phone. Checks should be made out to “Casey Trees” and mailed to:

Are donations to Casey Trees tax-deductible?

Yes, Casey Trees is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. Your donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

What does my donation to Casey Trees go towards?

Unless otherwise designated, all donations are considered “Unrestricted Donations” and go to the general operating fund of Casey Trees which supports tree plantings, education, research, advocacy and more.

Can I support or sponsor a particular program?

Yes, restricted donations are honored to their full extent. To make a restricted contribution, please contact the Development Department at 202.833.9125 or at development@caseytrees.org.

Does donating automatically make me a Member?

Since our Membership benefits are all tax-deductible, all donors who give over $50 per year are automatically members. Members may opt out of benefits at any time.

Why should I become a monthly donor?

Pledging a monthly gift allows you to better manage your annual philanthropic giving and provides a predictable and reliable stream of funding for Casey Trees. You choose the amount you wish to give per month, and you can change or cancel your pledge at any time.

To become a monthly donor, simply fill out our Evergreen Membership donation form.

What is the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and how do I participate?

The CFC is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign and is for all federal employees and retirees. You can give online, with a paper pledge form, or through the CFC Giving Mobile App.

Casey Trees will be part of the CFC campaign starting September 2023 and our listing number is 24598.

What if I’m not a federal employee? Are there other workplace giving programs?

Yes, many employers provide giving and matching programs. Contact the Development Department at 202.833.9125 or development@caseytrees.org if yours requires documentation to set up/ verify Casey Trees as an eligible organization.

Does Casey Trees make cash grants?

Casey Trees does not make cash grants. However, we do make in-kind gifts of trees through our School and Community Tree planting Programs.

Can I gift a tree to a person?

Trees make great gifts. Honor someone special or celebrate a momentous occasion with a Tree Dedication or Tree Adoption.

Can I donate a tree to Casey Trees?

To ensure the quality and health of our trees, we do not accept trees as donations.
