Are donations and contributions to Casey Trees tax-deductible?
Yes, Casey Trees is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. Your donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
What does my donation to Casey Trees go towards?
Unless otherwise designated, all donations are considered “Unrestricted Donations” and go to the general operating fund of Casey Trees which supports tree plantings, education, research, advocacy and more.
Can I support or sponsor a particular program?
Yes, restricted donations are honored to their full extent. To make a restricted contribution, please contact the Development Department at 202.833.9125.
Does making a donation automatically make me a Member?
Yes. Since our Membership benefits are all tax-deductible, all donors over $50 per year are automatically members. You may opt out of Membership benefits at any time.
Why should I become a monthly donor?
Pledging a monthly gift allows you to better manage your annual philanthropic giving and provides a predictable and reliable stream of funding for Casey Trees. You choose the amount you wish to give month and you can change, or cancel, your pledge at any time.
To become a monthly donor, simply fill out our Evergreen Membership donation form.
Does Casey Trees make cash grants?
Casey Trees does not make cash grants. However, we do make in-kind gifts of trees through our School and Community Tree planting Programs.
Can I gift a tree to a person?

In order to ensure the quality and health of our trees, we do not accept trees as donations.
