Trees 101
August 25, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm UTC-4
Free
Do you want to play a greater role in re-treeing D.C.? We need your help to protect and promote trees in our urban forest!
Trees 101 provides a foundation in tree anatomy, basic tree identification and an overview of how trees function to provide the benefits we enjoy in the urban forest. It is also the first step in becoming a Casey Trees Citizen Forester.
Citizen Foresters turn this knowledge into action by helping:
- Plant, prune, mulch and water trees in all 8 wards.
- Monitor the health of the urban forest through tree inventories.
- Educate others on the importance of trees by staffing informational booths at farmers’ markets and local festivals.
- Advocate for trees whenever and wherever possible.
We can’t wait to have you join our community of empowered Citizen Foresters!
