Tree Walk: UDC Campus
October 17 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am EDT
Personal masks are required at all times, they will not be provided. Attendees are required to maintain at least six (6) feet of distance between fellow attendees and employees of Casey Trees.
Make use of the Casey Trees species guide and learn key characteristics of tree species to tell them apart. We will also discuss the benefits that these trees provide to our urban forest.
What to expect: An easy walk around the grounds, stopping to view and discuss different tree characters for species identification. We will have species guides to use. No experience necessary.
Come Prepared: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for an easy 1.5 hour walk around the park. Feel free to bring a small notebook.
Meals: None provided. Please bring your own water.
Getting There: The tree walk is accessible by bus, metro, street parking and bike.
Public Transit: The closest metro station is Van Ness-UDC. The bus is L2.
Parking: There is street parking around the campus/neighborhood.
Bikes: Bikes can be locked to nearby bike racks. There is a Capital Bikeshare station at the Van Ness-UDC metro.
Where to Meet: Look for the Casey Trees staff in the orange vest in front of the UDC bookstore and beside the metro station near the corner of Connecticut Ave. and Van Ness St. NW.
