COVID-19 Update

The current and ongoing developments around COVID-19 have challenged us all, but we take solace in the fact that we have, and will continue, to act with an abundance of caution to safeguard our staff and volunteers. We have therefore made the difficult but appropriate decision to cancel all our community volunteer events this fall.

Our Mission Marches On

Despite this setback, I am happy to report that with new safety protocols in place, our staff planted 1,400 trees, inventoried 11,472 trees for our Survival Study, and our Tree Farm continues to grow trees for the upcoming seasons. So – our mission marches on, albeit a little differently.

Ways to Stay Involved with Casey Trees

Our message continues to resonate and attract those who wish to support our work. While we won’t be together at tree plantings this fall, we have some exciting, innovative ways to get folks involved in restoring, enhancing, and protecting, the tree canopy of our nation’s capital. In the meantime, check out our tree-sources for schoolkidsTrees Near Me Map which displays the location and species of trees by you, and explore our online platform Casey Trees Remote and quick classes  Your City, Your Trees.

Protect Yourself, Protect Others, Protect Your Urban Forest

While times are challenging, the energy and ideas of Casey Trees and our city remain as creative and strong as ever. There are still plenty of ways to get involved and if you’re interested and able, consider becoming an Evergreen member to financially support our work during these unprecedented times, or keep an eye on our online store for Casey Trees Mask so you can show your dedication to our urban canopy and public health safety. Regardless, the support we continue to see from you – our friends and partners – continues to amaze.
