Happy New Year! Start 2023 off on the right foot by getting involved with Casey Trees. Whether you’re looking to give back to your community or learn new skills and meet like-minded people – we have something for you. Learning about your environment is an incredibly rewarding experience that can help you grow and expand your horizons. We’d love for you to join us and make a difference!

Monday 01/09 – Casey Trees Advocacy Brown Bag Webinar

Join staff from Casey Trees’ Policy & Land Conservation team as we explore what it means to be an advocate for both the environment and your community. You can expect to learn about the structure of the District’s government and the agencies that work on environmental issues here in DC, and how Casey Trees approaches advocacy. Register today and help make DC a greener city!

Monday 01/16 – Community Conservation at Langdon Park

Join us for Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service on Monday, January 16th at Langdon Park! This holiday celebrates the life of civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr., and is the only federal holiday also designated by Congress as a National Day of Service – a “day on, not a day off.” Nationwide, people are encouraged to participate in meaningful service in their communities. Join us at Langdon Park to pull invasive species and care for trees – to combat climate change and give back to our city and planet this MLK day!

Monday 01/30 – Urban Trees 101

Join Casey Trees with the City of Hyattsville for a virtual discussion on the importance of trees in our city spaces. Learn how arborists choose the “right tree, for the right place,” and how you can connect and care for your trees. Check out other opportunities with the City of Hyattsville on their Tree Care page. This is the first in a series of programs with Casey Trees and the City of Hyattsville in 2023. Future program dates will be announced soon.
