Jessica Sanders Recognized with MAC-ISA President’s Citation

The Mid Atlantic Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture, known as MAC-ISA, is a component of the ISA, the largest arboriculture association worldwide. With a mission to promote a culture of safety while fostering education and research that supports the care and benefits of trees, we’re obviously big fans.

Every year MAC-ISA holds an Annual Meeting and trade show to reconnect with friends and colleagues throughout the region and hear the latest and greatest in arboriculture from our well-respected speakers. They also present chapter awards during the awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding dedication and service to the chapter.

We are thrilled to note that our very own Jessica Sanders was recognized with a President’s Citation by MAC-ISA President Lauren McCallister for being an outstanding member of the MAC-ISA Membership Committee.

President McCallister noted, “Since joining the committee during her first term on the Board of Directors, Jess has been a very active and motivated member of the team. ‘She is always looking for ways to highlight our existing member benefits as well as develop additional ones. Jess frequently goes the extra mile to support our organization. For example, she recently worked to get a MAC-ISA member discount for the upcoming Green Cities Summit in December. Her enthusiasm for and pride in our organization and its members are contagious and I have confidence that she will continue with this same attitude through the end of her second term. For all of this, I am very happy to award Jess with the 2019 MAC-ISA President’s Citation.’”

Congrats Jess! We know firsthand the impact her above and beyond efforts have had – she’s expanded and improved our citizen science program, launched a campaign to Save District Soil, and gone to bat for trees and protections during countless Council hearings

You can celebrate her and all her work towards restoring, enhancing, and protecting D.C. trees at the Summit our team and Montgomery Parks are tirelessly putting together Regular admission to the Green Cities Summit is $110 but speaking of discounts for the Green Cities Summit – did you know we have a few?
