Two Part Non-Native Invasive Plant Removal Class

During this two-part class participants will learn about the non-native invasive plants threatening D.C.’s trees and how to effectively manage them — essentially how to be a tree warrior!

The course consists of two parts on two different days:

Wednesday, June 8 — A classroom session at Casey Trees headquarters

Saturday, June 11— A field session at Rock Creek Park

Classes are led by instructors from Rock Creek National Park, Anacostia Watershed Society, and the Department of Energy & Environment.

By the end of the two sessions, you’ll be able to both identify several common non-native species and know how to safely remove them without damaging the trees and other plants around them.

You can also use your invasive training at future volunteer opportunities!
