February Classes are Filling Up Fast

DIRT! The Movie, Tree 101, 201 and Buds — oh my! February might be the shortest month of the year but it is jammed packed with fun events here at Casey Trees!

Friday, February 12                         Family Program: Buds Story Time at the Hill Center

Join us at the Hill Center for our Buds family program, a tree-focused story time aimed toward an audience of toddlers and preschoolers. Filled with songs, art projects and a scavenger hunt!

Saturday, February 20                    Class: Trees 101
Learn about trees in this introductory course covering tree anatomy, tree identification, and an overview of the benefits of Washington’s urban forest.

Saturday, February 20                    Family Program: Buds Story Time at Rock Creek Park Nature Center
Bring your family to Rock Creek Park Nature Center for our Buds family program, an interactive, tree-focused story time with sing-alongs aimed toward an audience of toddlers and preschoolers. Children learn about nature through books, songs, crafts and a special scavenger hunt!

Wednesday, February 24             Screening: DIRT! The Movie
Dirt! The Movie, narrated by Jamie Lee Curtis, will completely change how you view and value dirt — and make you appreciate the important role trees play in nourishing and replenishing the earth.

Saturday, February 27                    Class: Trees 201
Trees 201 builds of the foundation blocks laid in Trees 101. Expect to learn more advanced tree identification skills and how to identify the right tree for the right place.
