Join Mark in testifying for stronger tree protections

Executive Director Mark Buscaino will be testifying in support of the Tree Canopy Protection Amendment Act of 2015 this Friday, October 2.

If enacted, the Act would significantly strengthen existing tree protection laws across the District.

However, the Act could be even stronger. Casey Trees is proposing:

  • Lowering the minimum size of Special Trees, now at 55 inches, to 40 inches.
  • Close the tree maintenance loophole to prevent Tree Fund money being spent on tree removal
  • Specifying that Tree Fund money may be used to plant trees on both public and private lands

Add your voice in support. Sign our petition or join Mark in testifying on Friday to show the D.C. Council and Mayor Bowser how important a tree-filled city is to you.
