Green Ward 6 with Councilmember Charles Allen and Casey Trees

Ward 6, home to much of the city’s burgeoning development and many of its most exciting projects, has the lowest tree canopy in the District. With just 17 percent canopy cover, Ward 6 is ripe for an expansion of its green spaces, and Councilmember Charles Allen is prepared to lead the charge.

Join Councilmember Allen and representatives from the District’s Office of Planning, Department of the Environment and Urban Forestry Administration at May’s Tree Advocates Meeting for an evening devoted to a discussion of how to enhance green space and expand tree canopy in Ward 6.

Other speakers for the evening include:

  • Melissa Bird
Ward 6 Neighborhood Planning Coordinator, District Office of Planning
  • Steve Saari
Watershed Protection Specialist, District Department of the Environment
  • Earl Eutsler
Supervisory Forester, District Department of Transportation — Urban Forestry Administration
